What to Wear to Your Boudoir Session

One of the most common questions we get asked by our clients is, “What should I wear to my photo shoot?”. To most clients’ surprise, your wardrobe options are unlimited which is why we were inspired to create this guide to present ways you can dress up and prepare for your Dallas boudoir photo shoot. Keep reading for different style ideas, accessories, and inspiration!

General boudoir wardrobe tips:

  • On the day of your photo shoot we encourage you to bring a few different outfits. We’ll work with you to select the most flattering ones.

  • The most important thing is to bring wardrobe items you feel most confident in. This will show in your portraits! So if you’re not sure about an item, don’t bring it! Only bring your most loved pieces.

  • Before you come into the studio we recommend you try on your pieces so you are ready and prepared. The fit is a very important component to a happy session!

  • You don’t need to feel inclined to show lots of skin. A bodysuit or corset works really nice and shoots beautifully.

  • If you’re not sure where to begin, we recommend any black lingerie because it’s always a sexy look.

Bras & lingerie sets

Delicate, and super feminine.

This is the most common theme for boudoir and generally, lingerie covers the Classic Beauty theme pretty nicely. Some ideas: A corset or a lacy lingerie set. Click here for lingerie inspiration.

Sheer and next-to-nothing

Fierce and sexy.

Some clients come into the studio feeling like they want to be expressive and naughty. In these instances, we encourage you to feel empowered to take that decision. Our studio is a safe and non-judgmental space. Some ideas that will take your shoot to the next level: Sheer lacey accessories. Ramp it up with a beautiful diamond or pearl necklace. Glimpse daring options here.

Everyday wear

Unique, vibrant, and stylish.

This option can be a lot of fun! Do you own a favorite piece of clothing that makes you feel absolutely unstoppable? Wear it! That’s one of the biggest misconceptions about boudoir… that you have to be almost naked. Not true in the slightest! Remember, your session is all about you and what makes you feel gorgeous. Some ideas: An elegant cocktail dress with heels or jeans and a bralette to give off a casual, sexy look.

Bodysuits

Exquisite, dreamy, and confident.

Bodysuits are really flattering and suitable for all body types. They also come in a variety of nice styles and colors. View recommended bodysuits here.

Hosiery

Playful and fun.

If you have a playful personality, this enigmatic style is for you! Some ideas: A corset, with feathers, masquerade masks, and any showgirl style hairpiece! Think flapper girls.

Sports & hobby attire

Expressive and aesthetic.

Give your boudoir session an aesthetic touch and soul expression by portraying your interests and passions! After all, your session is all about showcasing your true self. Some ideas: Your favorite football teams jersey or shooting with an instrument you play. The opportunities are ultimately endless.

Additional Accessories to Perfect Your Look ❤️‍🔥

  1. Pearls and Necklaces: When pearls or necklaces are added to a session, it creates a dreamy glam-like feel!

  1. Shirts: A oversized man’s shirt creates a sexy and casual look for any session.

  2. Nightgowns: This luxurious accessory can be used as a sensual add-on to lingerie sets.

  3. Feathers: Feathers give a cheeky look when worn. They also help to accentuate your best features.

  4. Heels: This goes without saying! Heels always add an extra element to your boudoir photo shoot outfit. You can choose from a variety of heels, like pumps, knee-high boots, or stilettos. Whatever you enjoy most!

  5. Bridal accessories: If you’re getting married soon (congrats!), we recommend you bring in some of your most prized bridal accessories to your photo shoot. For example, your wedding veil or garter, and engagement ring. Pearls also work wonderfully for bridal-style sessions.
